I really don't like talking about my personal life on the web site but there have been some
vicious attacks, and I feel this needs to be set straight. I have had one serious
relationship in the last year with a girl named Mandy (not Mandy Moore as many have
suspected.) Many of you have seen pictures of her in magazines. Mandy and I broke up
several weeks ago. The breaking point with Mandy was when she slapped my best friend Brent
for listening to a BSB song. Mandy was also physically abusive to me and my fans; she just
couldn't handle it. It really turned ugly after I helped her sign a record contract and she
started recording her first album. When we broke up, she and her family took my big screen
TV -- a gift from Jive Records. She has my regards, my pity, my love but also my goodbye.

My opinion
I don't often give my opinion about the Backstreet girlfriends, but I really need to give mine on this one.
I've been hearing rumors for a long time about Mandy not being very nice to the fans, but I never really paid much attention to it.
I thought that people just said that, because they were jealous of her. But now I've totally come around, I just can't believe
that she slapped Nick's friend and that she was also physically abusive to Nick and the fans. Is that the way to treat your boyfriend?
I would never ever do that to my boyfriend. And after everything he has done for her, she took his TV? If I hear all this I get the feeling
that the only thing why she was with Nick was to get better of it. And she sure got what she wanted. But if she can't handle the pressure of Nick's fans, how
the hell does she think she is going to cope with her own fame and fans (if she ever get's famous)? All I know is that I would never be a fan of her after what she's done to Nick.
Anyway I'm glad Nick explained all this, I've never heard him so open and so adult about it. Let's just hope he will find a girl someday who he will treat him right!

The next picture was in the BRAVO in October 1997. It was made at the first ever concert from the first US tour in Orlando.
On the picture are from left to right BJ, Angel, Aaron Carter and Mandy Wilaford.
Call it instincts, but from the very first moment that I saw this picture I knew that this girl was more than just a friend of BJ like the note said. That's how I felt back in 1997.
When I heard about Nick admiting he had a girlfriend, I thought again about that picture and I've always said it to my friends that that was her. I also had the picture for months on this site. Anyway in August (1999) I saw the BRAVO again and guess what...
they had this very same picture in it again with the words that this is Nick's girlfriend!!!
